Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanin Nantasenamat (MUIC Class of 2003)
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanin Nantasenamat graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science degree with First Class Honors. He then went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Technology degree from the Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University. He was also granted the Royal Golden Jubilee Ph.D. Scholarship and his doctoral thesis was given the Excellent Thesis Award by the National Research Council of Thailand as well as by Mahidol University. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanin is currently the Founding and Present Head of the Center of Data Mining and Biomedical Informatics, Mahidol University. He was awarded the Highest Number of Research Publications Award (Web of Science) by Mahidol University in 2017. In 2013, he was awarded the Best Employee Award of the Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University. Thus far, he was awarded more than 17.5 million Baht in research funding as principal investigator by various granting agencies in Thailand and Sweden. He has successfully supervised 12 doctoral students and 8 master’s students in the graduate study program, has developed 10 softwares and web-servers in machine learning and drug discovery and has published 107 research and review articles on the aforementioned topics as indexed by the SCOPUS database.
